Planting plan for a Cottage Garden
My Client wanted a new border to mimic an existing border and create a mown lawn path to a seating area.
The border design uses a mix of bush roses and perennials that are found else where in the garden. Hardy annuals such as Nigella are encouraged to self seed to create a cottage garden feel. The dense planting style provides shelter for wildlife such as frogs and toades. Successional planting provides food for insects most of the year and hardy annual seed heads are left on in the Autumn to provide food for finches.
